Welcome to the NEW renegades.com.au
You might have noticed a lack of articles and photos being posted here lately, and we're truly sorry if that left you feeling a little unloved and lacking satisfaction in return for clicking on your renegades.com.au bookmark. But now that lonely period has come to an end.
Over the last several months I've sorted through 10 years of written articles and photos in the old sites static pages and through various magic programming incantations which only 8 years of university could teach me put them into a content management system. This means that lots of cool things (tm) are now possible such as the new photo galleries, discussion forums, events calender and plenty more to come in the next few months. More than that it means that it will soon be much easier for YOU, the Renegades membership to become authors by submitting articles, adding photos and discussing whatever you want in the forums.
Unfortunately until I get all of the clubs contact database imported only a few people have accounts to log in with, but you may still browse around, leave comments in the forums, and hopefully leave some feedback on any errors you find (errors! *gasp*).
Finally I'd like to give a huge thanks to David Martin for actually writing and maintaining 10 years worth of Renegades news and information (check out his impressive collection here. And case you haven't looked around too much before then now's a good time to read his History of Melbourne University Renegades and History of Volleyball (with an Australian focus) pages. Hopefully my work will lift the burden of having to maintain the site and allow him to write more of this quality work.

New Website
Hey Eric, Angry, this looks great so far, haven't gone thru it all yet but I will. I like the way the photos are broken into yearly groupings.
Just a few things at the moment:
List of Committee Members(position and names only) should be available for general viewing, not only member viewing.
Are the contact numbers we normally display still there...can't find them, which may mean losing some enquiries. My number is normally displayed for enquiries.
I'll email you with other praises and feedback as I progress thru the site.
PS: Do we submit this comment via the "Preview Comment" button, OR should there be a "Submit" button.
PPS: I've just answered the PS above, the "Post Comment" button didn't appear until the "Preview Comment" button was clicked.

Yes, I noticed the missing committee contact information and I plan to add it as soon as Eric works out how to give me the authority to edit existing pages on the site.
After ten years of controlling the club's website it is certainly no longer "my" website!

Sorry about missing that info, for what it's worth I deliberately didn't add the static content from the existing site because Erics Master Plan (tm) includes having all our contact listing automatically generated from the contacts database that the site has. Unfortunately I don't have any contact info yet so the contact database only has a couple of people in it. If you want to look at the auto generated page listings, here they are: [?:members/contact-lists contact lists]. This page is just a jumping point to the lists which we can link to from anywhere (and hopefully include the contents of them inside other static pages).
I've put the static info up for now (a couple of missing positions though, what details should be in them?), and hopefully I can pull it down to be replaced by the automatic lists soon (I've gotta hassle some people to get all our member contact info into a single spreadsheet for me to do a mass import)...
