Reds Social Beach Volleyball Day 2002

MU Renegades held a social beach volleyball day at St Kilda West Beach on Sunday, February 24, 2002. Fifteen teams of 4 entered with a diverse mixture of club members, friends and relatives made for a great day on the beach.
MU Renegades member Travis Hicks along with high school buddies Travis Sheridan, Kane Dixon and Richie Kent, won the final in the afternoon.
Travis writes...
"The twenty minute per game format really suited us as we got off to a goodstart in most games and then just tried to hold off the comeback of theother teams. Another key to our win (though we in no way advocate that thisis for everybody) was the occasional beer between games to steady some ofthe nerves and introduce a mental state of 'no fear'. At times it wasdifficult to see who the volleyballer was on my team with the boys diving inback court and making few mistakes on serve reception. We all enjoyed theday and look forward to defending our title in 2003."
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone who turned up to make the day a big success.
