Tachikara Volleyball Not Trialled at Warrnambool 2000

Well, Tachikara volleyballs were NOT used at the 2000 Warrnambool State Cup afterall. Instead, it was Molten Soft Touches as usual. Not sure as to why the organsiers changed their mind, but I guess it will be at least another year before Tachikara are seen being used in Victorian Volleyball League matches.
Only a couple of clubs hadn't wanted to give Tachikara volleyballs a try (as compared to the Molten Soft Touch balls that have been used throughout Victoria for years) - 12 of 15 clubs responding to VVI apparently agreed to trial the "new" balls.
So, we had expected Tachikara volleyballs to be trialled at the Warrnambool State Cup. Then, depending on their performance and people's feedback, they were then supposed to have been considered for use in the Victorian Volleyball League. Afterall, they're slightly cheaper than the Moltens here in Australia.
The problem with changing balls has been that the cheaper types of Tachikaras have been around a while but obviously don't have the same feel as a Molten Soft Touch. So, until the Japanese made SV-5W (Gold) Tachikaras start to be used (rather than the cheaper American and Korean made Tach models) Tachikara will continue to have a poorer image here in Australia... despite the potential cost savings.
