1999 Australian Volleyball League

The Australian Volleyball League reached Melbourne on Friday, April 30, 1999, at the Veneto Club in Bulleen. This was the second round of this year's AVL, although no one seemed to know about the first leg up at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.

Overall, it was a good weekend for the Victorian based clubs, with both the men's and women's Melbourne Falcons teams winning all their matches. Not so good news for the Dandenong Bell Thunderbirds women though, losing their three games.

Australian SBS Television is again showing AVL highlights each Sunday morning at 11:30am, and they have a great looking new intro to the program.

Note also that SBS Television will also be showing highlights of the World League on Sunday afternoons starting June 13.
