Three in a Row for Renegades at the Australian Masters Volleyball Championships

The Renegades Men's team won the Australian Masters Volleyball Championship in the 30+ age group for the third year in a row. The Masters were held in Canberra this year over Easter and Renegades had both a men's and women's team playing.
After the fun and success of the previous two years (Melbourne in 1999, Brisbane in 2000), the Renegades men went in to the weekend full of confidence despite the absence of several players. When Henri 'H' Bemelmans was injured in the third match though, the team was down to just six players. In the end, the side lost just one match for the weekend, defeating a Sydney based team in the grand final to take the gold.
Whilst they had a less successful time of it on the court, the Renegades women also enjoyed a great weekend away.
