Patty 'Choppa' Chier celebrated her 21st in fine fashion at the Retreat Hotel in Abbotsford on the 10th of May. The invitation said "please dress up", which seemed appropriate with Choppa being such an elegant young lady, but was later defined as fancy dress as Patty was questioned about the formal attire aspect of the evening..."Yeah, dress up, you know what I mean!"

With Choppa's extensive world travels she has accumulated a lot of famous friends and the night turned out to be a gala event. It was a TV Week fest with stars from home and abroad. Cindi Lauper, Pauline Hanson, Michael Bolton, Salvador Dali, Harrison Ford and Catwoman were all there. Members of the English aristocracy, Swedish swimming stars, Canadian elfs, an African explorer and a Scottish Nationalist were all rubbing shoulders with the other guests.

All great parties have to end, but there are always those couple of people who won't go home. I happened to be standing at the bar when they closed it at 1:30am along with Kerry Oataway and Birgit Beisner who were insistent on buying me a drink. After five minutes of debate with the bar staff, I realised that the last drink had definitely been served and I left them there. Twenty minutes later after questions of their where-a-bouts were raised, I returned to the bar to find Space with a ten dollar bill in her hand pleading with the note to the bar staff for "just one last bourbon", and Birg sitting on the bar stool giggling in a delirious manner.

(and then there was the Rochester...)
