The Melbourne - Monash Challenge is on again. Like last year, Team Melbourne will be taking on Monash at University open days in a variety of sports for the right to hoist the Chancellor's cup. Melbourne University is the holder of the trophy and we certainly expect a spirited performance from you all to try and retain the trophy again in 2010.

To students of unimelb:

There's the Southern University Game in Bendigo (VIC) coming up this July 5-7th, entry fee is $115 per participant.
Anyone interested in playing indoor or beach volleyball just buzz me and I will let our team manager(s) know about it.

Note: You need to be a current student of the University to represent the university.

There's also the Australian University Games (AUG) which will be held in Perth from 26th Sept to 1st Oct. Highlight those dates in your calendar if you are interested :)

Congratulations to Melbourne Uni Cats who smashed Monash in the GOLD medal match to win this years Australian Uni Games. Individual congrats also go out to Milli and Teresa for being chosen in the Green and Gold team. Thanks to Chris Chatham for coaching the Cats to victory.

A message from Matt Wardrop from Australian University Sport:

The 2008 South Challenge (UniGames), run by Australian University Sport will take place in Melbourne 6-11 July, 2008. The Challenge will feature 10 sports, and upwards of 1,000 university students from all over Australia. We are currently looking for a Competition Manager for the Volleyball.

The Volleyball Competition will be held at Melbourne Uni from Weds 9 – Fri 11 July 2008. Please find attached a position description that details the Competition Manager role. In brief, the Comp Manager:

A big congrats to the Melbourne Uni IV teams who competed last week
in Brisbane. The mens team led by Ben Loft (green and gold) finished a
respectable third, and the womens team did one better finishing second.
