Hey Renegade Girls, the call for interested players for Canberra is still out there. Road trip to the Australian Capital departs on Friday the 27th and returns Sunday the 29th. Entry closes Friday, so please let me know ASAP if you are interested.

The VVL grand final is upon us, but there is still more volleyball ahead. There are two tournaments coming up in October. The first in Mornington on the weekend of the 3rd/4th of October. The second is Bendigo on the weekend on 31st/1st of October.

On Sunday May 10th (Mother's Day) the Western Region Volleyball Championships were held at St Bernard's College. Renegades Juniors were involved in 5 different teams including the Senior Boys Champions and Junior Boys Champions teams.

Volleyball Victoria are running a tournament 2 weeks before the start of this years state league season. This is one of the clubs official tournaments and we expect all our players to make themselves available.

aka Warrnambool Tournament 2009
It was another big Warrnambool tournament long weekend with Renegades sending 5 teams to compete in the annual Seaside Volleyball Tournament. There was plenty of on court action and success (yay, we love success), and as always when you get 40+ fit, athletic players together for 3 days of volleyball action there's bound to be plenty of off court shenanigans to keep everybody entertained as well, but you'll have to come to training for the details on that...

Now that the VVL season has reached finals it's time to think about tournaments. The dates for the tournaments this year are:
- Mornington: 18-19 October
- Bendigo: 1-2 November

Post season training for tournaments will be held once a week starting Wednesday 17th September at 7.30pm - 10pm at Melb Uni Sports Centre. All players welcome.

I was just wondering if anyone wants to head to horsham? I'm playing with the bendigo team in div 2, and we need another couple of players. If you can let me know ASAP so i can let the team whats going on that would be good.

The weekend tournament started at 8AM against Phantoms from Geelong (with a couple of Renegades in disguise). They won 2-1 and we hoped that would be the hardest match up of the weekend. As it turned out we were right, and after 5 more games, a few beers, a lot of turkish bread and some classic sledging by Gillby we met them again in the final.

For any of the guys who want to train on Thursdays nights, Gus will be running sessions at Gilmore from 7:30pm. Starting this week and running through to the end of November.
