St Bernards, the secondary school for boys where I teach and coach volleyball, recently played a match against a Chinese High School volleyball team. Our opponents were the number one Middle School of Shiajiazhuang from the Chinese province of He Bei.

The 1995 Schweppes Sport Plus Australian Universities Games were held in Darwin, Northern Territory, from September 24-30, 1995. By all reports, they were right up there as one of the best Games, with great weather to aid the social atmosphere. The Melbourne University women's volleyball team played better as the tournament went on, winning the second pool and placing 9th overall.
