And finally there were plans...

The Melbourne University Sport web site has some information about the redevelopment of the University's Sports Centre scheduled to startlate this year at the Melbourne University Sport web site.

Of main interest to the volleyball club is the substantial expansion of the cardio-equipment and weights area for fitness work. The other major change will be the new eight lane 25m pool.

"The key elements of the new centre include the development of a world class Aquatics hall, which it is envisaged will consist of a 25m x Eight Lane training pool, a 20m warm water pool and a spa/sauna area, a cardio-equipment and weights area of some 1000m2 in space (that's three times the existing size of the gym!), improved amenities, reception and access arrangements to both the Sports Centre and Beaurepaire buildings, a dedicated Martial Arts/Combative sports area, reclaiming the old pool plant room into a Fencing/Rifle and Power Lifting activity room together with the installation of six Glass Backed Squash Courts into the Beaurepaire Gym space."
