The regular VVI season is drawing to a close with this weekend being the last round before we all saddle up and chase fame and glory during the 2009 finals. It's been a good year for Renegades so far consistently maintaining a team within the top 4 in each division, but as the ladder shuffling draws to a close several teams are in a precarious position this weekend if they want their seasons to continue.

Honours Men

Last years premiers have had an up and down season to date, showing glimpses of last years form but not managing to capture the magic game in / game out.  They're currently sitting in 4th place and face a do or die game in a rematch of last years grand final (vs Monash) if they are to hold onto that position. The team do love to beat Monash though...  They get let loose at 4pm.

Honours Women

In the last few weeks they've dropped out of the 4 after an impressive start to the season and are sitting in 5th position.  The mathematicians tell me that victory this weekend will see their season continue, but with plenty of players being unavailable for the all important pre finals campaign training sessions and playing off against the 2nd placed team they have a battle on their hands. They play at 10am and could definitely use some cheering action to get them over the line.

Division 1 Men

The boys have been through all emotional states in the last few weeks having lost a game they'd pencilled into win and thinking that it spelled the end of their finals ambitions, fortunately Heidelberg graciously laid down to their opponents in the very next match leaving us in 3rd and looking good for next week. The action vs Monash starts at 12pm.

Division 1 Women

With 2 coaches there's plenty of love to go around and the girls have had a good season, sitting in 3rd position in a tight competition and ready to tackle a tough finals campaign. They'll be taking down Monash from 2pm on.

Division 2 Men

We threw 3 teams at the problem and hoped one of them would stick.  In a season where Div 2 Blue and Div 2 White "gained valuable experience", Div 2 Red have excelled.  That is until a lack of training attendance over the uni break came back to bite them with a string of losses.  They're sitting in 3rd position and look like they'll make it through, but victory this weekend could hand them the all important double chance. Showdown with Mornington at 2pm.

Division 2 Women

The girls have clicked on court from the start with Nadia doing a fine leadership job with an otherwise all new group of girls.  They sit in 2nd position with one loss for the year. Yarra will face their wrath at 10am.
