Seeking Interest for 2010 Tournament Manager

Numerous players told the committee they felt confused and uninformed about the mid-season & post-season tournaments in 2009, so the committee is trying to eliminate this issue by appointing a Tournament Manager, to ensure tournaments are advertised to club members and organised in a timely manner.

The club would like to appoint this position as soon as possible, as applications for entry to the Warrnambool tournament held in March are already open.

The position is open to any volunteer wishing to fulfil the role.  This person will be part of the committee as an Ordinary Member, and encouraged to attend as many committee meetings as possible throughout the year.  Ideally, this role will be filled by someone who does not intend to nominate for a non-ordinary role in the committee.

The role of Tournament manager is not to organise each tournament, but to ensure each tournament gets organised.  The manager must ensure someone fulfils the following duties:

• Advertise tournament dates to club members a month or so before each tournament
• Take names of who wants to play so teams can be formed
• Ensure each player has a playing top and current VVI rego (not all tournament players play State League)
• Book accommodation

A tournament pack will be provided with useful information (ie: tournament dates, entry deadlines, accommodation used in the past...) to facilitate this process.
