Interested in coaching at the club...now or in the future, then here is an opportunity to get qualified. There is a Level 1 Coaching course this Sunday. Visit the VVI website and go to the "Coaching" tab, choose the Level 1 from the list to get more information. An application form needs to be submitted to VVI, and then follow the instructions to complete some of the course online.

For current club coaches who need to do the course to coach in State League, the costs will be covered by the club (indicate this on your application form. For those that want to coach in the future, you will need to initially cover the cost yourselves and when you take up a coaching role in the club, you will re-imbursed for the course costs.

It is now a VVL requirement that all coaches must have a minimum Level 1 Coaching Accreditation, and as such the club recognises that it needs to provide some financial support to those volunteering their time.

There is a legal requirement that is specifically imposed on coaches, and that is, they must have a Working With Children check. The club would like to ask all members to apply for this, to ensure that it is covered in all situations, but particularly when we seek coaching support for the juniors. The process is simple, go to a Post Office, ask for the application form, complete the form as a "Volunteer" (no costs attached) and use the Club name as your "employer". They will take a photo, submit the form and then just wait until you get your ID card thru the mail.

The club hopes that some of you can join the club ranks as a coach as it will strengthen our coaching depth. Please give this some serious consideration and help us to help you.
