Season Kick Off BBQ and Annual General Meeting (compulsory for all members)

The season is rapidly approaching and it's time to get together, meet all of our new members and maybe even elect some new committee members while we're at it.  Come along for a BBQ on the lawn behind the Melbourne University Sports Centre (you know, that place we train at all the time), partake in eating some Aussie style fried meat (or some non meat products if you're that way inclined) and generally have a good old Renegades mingle.

Aside from the BBQ we will also be conducting our Annual General Meeting.  We expect all our members to show up for the AGM, not doing so completely removes your right to event think about complaining about any aspect of how the club's run, the coaching policy's, the shirt color, or why the world is sometimes mean to people.

There are plenty of positions open on the committee this year, particularly as many club veterans have decided that it's time for a year in the back seat after putting in 5+ years of service in keeping the club organised (thanks for the work guys).  If you've been with the club for more than a year, then we consider you a perfect candidate to help us out (and if you've been here longer than 2 years, how come you haven't done a committee stint yet?).  The following positions will be voted on:

  • President - Oversees all club activities
  • Vice President - Assists the president
  • Treasurer - Keeps the books balanced
  • Secretary - Schedules meetings, keeps track of action items and answers correspondence
  • Association Delegate - Liaises with Volleyball Victoria
  • Melb Uni Liaison Officer - A student who liaises with Melbourne Uni Sport
  • Junior Coordinator - Looks after the Junior development side of the club
  • Operations Manager - Looks after fees, equipment and uniforms
  • Marketing Manager - Keeps the communication flowing, promotes events and explores fundraising or sponsorship opportunities
  • Social Coordinator - Plans events and activities for members (eg trivia night, pub nights)
  • Ordinary Members (2) - Help out any way they can

2 positions are then appointed by the committee - the Coaching Director and Public Officer.
