Melbourne University Renegades Volleyball Club has a junior volleyball program aimed at high school-aged children. We hope to:
Develop volleyball skills
Establish teams to compete in local volleyball competition (Junior State League) &/or tournaments
Provide a pathway into the senior state league teams within the club
The program is a great way to have fun, meet new friends & train hard in readiness of school competitions such as Vic Schools Cup & National Schools Cup.
Our Junior Program for 2011 is still under development. Renegades intend to enter a Junior Boys & Junior Girls team into VVL. If interested in playing, contact us.
The Australian University Games (AUG) are held in the mid-semester break in September. There is also a qualifying tournament in the July mid-year break. As a university club, we enter one men's and one women's team in the AUG each year. You can only play for us at the AUG if you are a current student of the University of Melbourne.
The Victorian Volleyball League (VVL) is the only state-wide volleyball league in Victoria.
2012 Season: 28 April - 8 September
The season consists of 14 rounds and 3 weeks of finals, with games being played on Saturdays. Games are usually played at the State Volleyball Centre in Dandenong, 35 Km from Melbourne University (30-45 min drive).
Renegades enter both Men's & Women's senior teams in each division:
Premier Division
Reserves
Division 2
Juniors - see information specific to Junior players
'Renegades' have been playing volleyball since 1966 and today we are one of the biggest volleyball clubs in Melbourne (and Australia). We have teams playing in almost every available competition at every possible skill level.

Weekend tournaments are held in regional towns in Victoria throughout the year. They are a great way to play good quality, competitive volleyball in a more relaxed atmosphere than the Victorian Volleyball League competition. It is a chance to get to know & enjoy the company of other club members from different teams & gender. You do not need to play VVL to be eligible to take part in a tournament.
The following Volleyball Victoria Associations run weekend senior tournaments throughout the year:
The Melbourne University Renegades Volleyball Club will be conducting a “COME & TRY” volleyball camp for any child between the ages of 13 and 17. Whether you’ve played volleyball before or not, this is the perfect chance to come try, see how you go, be active and have a heap of fun!
