2012 Mornington Tournament

Last weekend 9 boys & 9 girls made the short trip to Mornington (thank you Eastlink) to compete in the Mizuno Vic Open Championship.
Slowly we trickled into the Dromana Caravan Park and discovered we were a mostly international crew, with 11 of the 18 Renegades coming from 11 different countries! The boys team welcomed new recruits from the Netherlands (Jesper) & England (Matt). Bernd (from Austria) was also on the team. I put my hand up to be the token Aussie in the women's team, and had a great time mimicking everyone else's accents.

We have 12 guys confirmed to be going to Mornington which is an awkward number and leaves us 2 options. Either we get the guys together in a Thunderdome style deathmatch until we have a nice number of players for one team, or we find a few more players so we can safely bring two teams and all enjoy plentiful court time.

The MU Renegades Junior Girls team enjoyed a great weekend of volleyball at the 2003 Victorian Volleyball Open held in Mornington earlier this month.

The Mornington tournament is just best forgotten from a Renegades point of view...although there are lessons to be (re-)learnt.

After a number of years missing from the calendar, the Victorian Open returned to indoor volleyball in this State on October 21-22, 2000, at Mornington.
