Melbourne University 'Cats' and 'Tiger' will be piling into assorted vehicles and road tripping over to Adelaide for another crack at AUG glory (whether that be medals or just AUG participants of their preferred sex).
Unfortunately the days of VSU are already upon us and of last years top 4 women's teams, the Cats are the only team back for Adelaide, but there's still the ever strong USA and a contingent of top quality Victorian sides standing between them and going one better than last years silver. The men are also looking like medal contenders with a strong side of 12 consistent players ready to further the Tiger spirit and carry The Hamilton onto further glory.

As the tournament approaches it's time for us to get together so we can:
Pick a team from the 18 or so girls who have expressed an interest;
Start training;
Practice our ace serve 'dance'
After this session I'll pick the squad and submit our team list to Melbourne Uni as well as discuss future training times/venues (probably Melbourne uni on a Monday or Wednesday night). If you want to play at this years AUG (and yes, it's awesome fun so trust me when I say you do), then make sure you get to this session. If you can't possibly make it (even in an injured state), the let me know ASAP, otherwise I won't know you're interested will I? For those of you who are transport challenged, there'll be a few people driving past uni, so email me and I can arrange something for you.

A big congrats to the Melbourne Uni IV teams who competed last week
in Brisbane. The mens team led by Ben Loft (green and gold) finished a
respectable third, and the womens team did one better finishing second.

aka Cats stay sober in order for Gold!
"Go Cats!" was all you could hear during warm up at this year's Southern Uni Games! And we did go... all the way to the gold medal playoffs, unscarred. After a dissapointing first game loss in 5 sets to Monash, we cruised past all competitors, slaughtering them in 3 sets.

Both the men's and women's Melbourne University volleyball teams qualified for the Australian University Games in September at last week's 2005 Southern University Games in the Latrobe Valley. The Melbourne Cats women's volleyball team won gold, defeating Deakin in straight sets in Thursday's grand final. While the Melbourne Tiger men lost their bronze play-off to Monash.
