Tournaments

(tags: )

Weekend tournaments are held in regional towns in Victoria throughout the year.  They are a great way to play good quality, competitive volleyball in a more relaxed atmosphere than the Victorian Volleyball League competition.  It is a chance to get to know & enjoy the company of other club members from different teams & gender.  You do not need to play VVL to be eligible to take part in a tournament.

The following Volleyball Victoria Associations run weekend senior tournaments throughout the year:

  • Warrnambool Volleyball Association*  10 - 12 March 2012 (details
  • Ballarat Volleyball Association*  21 - 22 April 2012 (details
  • Latrobe Valley Volleyball Association  22 - 23 September 2012 (details)
  • Mornington Volleyball Association  20 - 21 October 2012 (details)
  • Bendigo Volleyball Association  3 - 4 November 2012 (details)
  • Horsham Volleyball Association  17 - 18 November 2012 (details)

*Warrnambool & Ballarat are pre-VVL tournaments, compulsory for anyone wishing to play in the Victorian Volleyball League

As per club policy, the club will maintain a 'tournament fund'.  Monetary winnings of tournaments are added to this fund, and are used to subsidise subsequent tournaments (so, the more we win, the cheaper our tournaments are!).

Any transport/accommodation costs are the responsibility of the player.  The tournament organiser will arrange accommodation for the teams.

For more information, come along to a training session if you want to play a tournament (and you aren't training already)
