Round 3 finally saw all our Renegades teams up and about and hitting their winning groove.  The draw pitched 4 of our 7 senior teams into battle against the old enemy in black, Heidelberg, and we came away victorious in every one of those games.

The women's teams continued their strong start to the season with victory in all 4 divisions, with the ladies only dropping 2 sets between all the teams.  Fantastic job ladies!

Former Renegade Ciara Michel has been having a successful few years. Since playing with Renegades and University Blues in 2009 and 2010, she left Melbourne to compete in the London Olympics for the Great Britain team where (in our opinion) she starred. After the Olympics Ciara first took a contract in the German pro league before getting a gig in probably the #1 women's league in the world (Italy's Serie A) with Yamamay Busto Arsizio.

Round 2 of VVL again saw strong performances from our women's program, with no defeats between the 4 senior sides (admittedly 2 of the teams had a bye but it's still a great result).  Unfortunately the men are still finding their way but turned out some solid performances, and I know that the Premier Men in particular are keen to turn their close finishes into premiership points in round 3.

After hitting the practice court every week since mid January, round 1 of the 2015 VVL season finally arrived and it was time for 6 of our 7 senior teams to see where they stack up in real competition against the best volleyballers in the state.  As a part of the Monash University Volleyball Club's 50th anniversary celebrations, our Premier and Reserves teams left the neutral State Volleyball Centre venue and travelled to the Monash University stadium to challenge our university rivals on their home turf.
